My 100th Post!!!

Eeep! This is my 100th post!
I have had a total of 1,289 views in all time and people from France, Malaysia, Canada, Singapore, Ukraine, Germany, Denmark, United Kingdom, Philippines, Romania, and the U.S. of course.

Well, I've been wanting to share with y'all one of my short story's that I wrote when I was little, so I thought that this would be a great time to post one.
When I was little, my mom had me do creative writing, were I had to write a story that was 1 page long. Well for some reason my story's always seemed to have sad endings, and I just have to wonder what went on in my mind at that age... Well anyhow, Here is a story that I wrote when I was about 7.

Cowboy
There was a car named Cowboy , he got his name because his owner took him to see cowboys when he was young. One day he went to the store to get an airbag but when he went someone stole him. “Help, Help!” he cried, but nobody heard him. So Cowboy decided to create a car accident so that the robber would leave him alone, unfortunately he did not think ahead and ended up all scratched and scraped. Poor Cowboy, he was all beat up and alone in the dark not knowing where to go. The next day a repair guy came to fix Cowboy, when he was done Cowboy was taken to the auction. “Five Hundred!”, “Six Hundred!”, “Seven Hundred!” . For some odd reason everyone wanted Cowboy. He thought to himself  “I am not Shiny, new, or pretty. I am just an old beat up car, what is so special about me?”. Cowboy did not know what all the repair guy had did to him, like a new color of paint, a wax job, and a tv inside him. Cowboy sold for $100,100,100 dollars. He now lived in a mansion in Texas where there were servants, good food, and plenty of wax for Cowboy.  His owner had 4 kids, a huge pool, and ten bedrooms that had a bathroom in each one. Only the best people came to his house. When Cowboy got old he went to the junk yard where he was crushed to little pieces. The End.

He Fills our Needs and Desires

Countless amount of times I am amazed at how God has and is filling my needs and desires. Even when I don't ask him for things, He still gives them to me, which is just a reminder that he knows my thoughts and desires. For instance, I was wanting a job when the school year began, and next thing I knew the neighbor asked if I could babysit. When that job was near to ending in April, another job 'fell in my lap'. A woman at our church was going on maternity leave and needed someone to fill her position in the nursery, and I was asked to fulfill her duties while she was away. Of course, I don't need a job and I don't really need any money, but it is something that is pleasent to have and I am thankful for it nonetheless.
Another blessing I have received is the youth programs at our church. As some of you know, I was attending a youth group at the beginning of the year and left in December because I felt God was calling me to. Well, he has showed us a church with a marvelous bible study and Youth group that I am attending. The thing is though, that at my old Youth Group, they had an end of the school year beach trip. Now I know that going to the beach isn't a need, but to me I needed that time away from home to just take a break and reflect on my life. I would always get up early in the morning and sit on the sand, and just read my bible. Or watch the waves and think about everything that had happened recently in my life and what I need to change or do differently. I think that the Lord knows that I need a break sometimes just so that I can collect myself and look at where I am and where I want to go in my walk with the Lord, and sometimes it's so hard at home to do that when everything is chaotic. Well, back to the point, I found out that the youth at my church have a summer beach trip! I was just so excited and thankful to hear that because I have just been feeling so run down and in need of a break and refresher. So now I am looking forward to early mornings of watching the waves, and late nights of star gazing.

Somehow, whenever I gaze up at the stars above I feel so much closer to God. I know that's silly because He is always right there next to you, but the starry sky just really stirs my heart and reminds me of Gods amazingness.

Just remember that God is there for you always and will fulfill the needs and desires of your heart.
Have a wonderful night,

The Success Factor

Driven to Success
Are you the confident one with lots of talents, skills, and a drive for success? If so, then you may be in for a few mean people in your life. You may be unknowingly hurting the people around you with your single-minded focus of succeeding, that and often times other people can become jealous or angry toward you - especially the people who aren't so driven. Here is an example:

"Suzy had worked as a marketing coordinator for five years. She was a devoted employee. Always got to work on time, never left early. She did her job as it was designed and got done the things that were assigned to her. Then one day Liz shows up. Shes obviously an assertive, successful woman. Her clothes are nicer than Suzy's, her smile is straighter, and her voice is more commanding. Withing four months Liz has caught the attention of the management and Suzy is feeling herself slip down a rung. In six months Liz goes from marketing assistant to marketing director thanks to an innovative idea she came up with that took the company by storm. And there sits Suzy. She now serves Liz, whose forceful if not demanding nature leaves Suzy feeling useless and stupid."
Perhaps, if you have this type of personality, then you may be hurting the weak just by trying to get things done. It's important though that we always consider other peoples feelings. No, we can't please everyone, but if we are capable of not hurting someones feelings then we should do so.

Here are some helpful tips:
  • Think before you speak. I know you have just amazing ideas and the will power to make it happen, but let's remember that God wants us to show compassion toward others.
  • Show mercy and compassion to one another. Other may not operate at the same level and speed as you. So be patient with them and remember that success shouldn't be based on what you accomplish in  the world but rather how you please/obey God. Sometimes when we go fast pace it makes others think that we are mean or harsh. Maybe by slowing down a bit you can make a friend rather than an enemy.
  • Give them a break. It might be difficult for you to understand these woman that aren't so driven. Are they lazy? Don't they care? Woman who are so driven can often feel that woman who aren't have something wrong with them. But that isn't true, and really, God has just made us each different.
"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conciet, but in humility consider others better that yourselves"
~Philippians 2:3

This may or may not be you. If it is you than maybe it helps you understand why others don't always care much for you, if this isn't you, then maybe you know someone else who is like this and it will help you understand them better.
I hope you enjoyed this post.

What about you drives other people crazy?

"We'd love to think that everyone else is crazy and we are the only sane ones, but most of us, if we are honest, will admit that crazy sometimes describes us. No one is perfect, but as believers our goal is to move toward perfection, and for you it might mean taking the edge off of your personality, or it might mean just understanding how your presence makes others feel...."

Sometimes we find that other people don't like us or act mean toward us, I'm sure that this is nothing new to you- but have you ever thought that maybe you just so happen to drive these people crazy? Sometimes we un-intentionally make people feel insecure or hurt by the way that we act toward them. So how about we take a look at a few different personality's that may drive the people around you nuts. Stay tuned for four personality postings; The Success Factor, The Beauty Queen, Assertive Demands Anyone?, and The Shy-Bug.

"When  you understand more about how you present yourself to people, you might learn more about why they act the way they do with you".

Check in later for a new post :)
Have a blessed day!

The Kitchen of Love
To me, there is one place where the love for your family always seems to grow, and that's in the kitchen. Perhaps a few paragraphs from my favorite kitchen book can explain this a little better:

"We don't know about you, but we both love the kitchen. It is the heart of the house, the pulse of the family. So much happens in the kitchen. Botulism and putting out fires is only part of it.
First, the refridgerator is there. Need we say more? Nothing brings a family together quite like a game of 'Guess What It Was'. Whether it's a cucumber that now looks like a Chia Pet, cheese that now weighs two pounds more than it did when you bought it, or the three-week-old pot roast that is now providing a sort of neon lighting for you to see the rest of the food, playing Guess What It Was is a fun and educational game that has been bringing families together since the invention of the refridgerator.
Then there's the stove. How many famalies have gathered around a skillet engulfed in flames, trying to put out the fire before the neighbors see the smoke and call the fire department again? Nothing bonds a family quite like standing around a roaring grease fire on a cold winters day.
...Few things can silence teenagers more quickly than food. And few things can bring a family together faster than a feast. And we haven't even mentioned all the food fights yet."
