A Very Cool Note

Found this on facebook and found it awesome:
~An Atheist's View on Life:
(read from top to bottom)

I will live according to these beliefs
God does not exist
It is just foolish to think
That there is a God with a cosmic plan
That and all-powerful God brings purpose to the pain and suffering in the world
Is a comforting thought, However
It
Is only wishful thinking
People can do as they please without eternal consequences
The idea that
I am deserving of hell
Because of sin
Is a lie meant to make me a slave to those in power
"The more you have, the happier you will be"
Our existence has no grand meaning or purpose
In a world with no God
There is freedom to be who I want to be
But with God Life is an endless cycle of guilt and shame
Without God
Everything is fine
It is ridiculous to think
I am lost and in need of saving

Butterfly And Dragonfly Cakes!

A little while ago I made these cute cakes and thought I would share with you all:
This is a white cake with a peanut butter filling and buttercream icing. I had never made a peanut butter filling before so I thought it'd be a tasty treat to try! :D
This is a white cake with a Chocolate Dream filling (Chocolate and Marshmallow cream). It turned out pretty good as well :)

That's all for now, if I cook up any other good things then I'll try to post as well.

Showing what your for or against

I heard a song on the radio that was saying in the verse how when your judgmental people only know what you are against and not what you are for. It's so easy as a christian to judge others and see them as below us because they aren't "right with God". Yet, we can't even see the big picture: My youth pastor explains it like this;

"We as Christians see ourselves as being this close to God" he says with his fingers 1 inch apart from each other.
"And we see not-yet-believer's as being this far from God" he demonstrates with his hands a foot apart.
"When in reality we are this far apart from God" his hands being a foot apart, "And not-yet-believer's are this far" his hands broaden by a 1/4 of an inch.
"As you can see, we like to think that we are righteous and near to perfect, but really we aren't that much more perfect than those who aren't with God because we still sin and make mistakes"

My youth pastor was not trying to say that it means nothing to be in a relationship with God, but merely that we are still human and make mistakes just like the others around us. And therefore we really have no right to judge them. We aren't a mountain higher than them because we have God in our hearts.

We need people not to know what we are against, but what we are for. It's as simple as making choices: Do you shun the person with tattoos and dyed hair, or do you greet them with a smile and reach out to them? Does the bible tell us to shun others or to love on others? If you say that you stand for what the bible says, then what do you think you should do? Maybe it means giving a friendly greeting to the one with tattoos and dyed hair even if you personally don't wear that kind of 'attire'.

I am not saying that we need to "conform" to the world, but merely show Gods love and reach out just like Jesus did. If you think about it, Jesus hung out with people that did things that God didn't approve of. Take Judas for example; Jesus spent time with Judas and even washed his feet! Yet Judas was a thief. Does that means that Jesus became a thief or conformed to what Judas did? Absolutely not!

So I challenge you all to step out of the box and set aside your judgements, do what Jesus would in a situation and in the end show others what you stand for.

Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor? James 4:11-12

I think this verse is self explanatory on not judging others, and what we need to do instead is show others what being a christian is really about: How God loves us and how he loves you too.

Setting the Example

Thanks to several friends pushing me to continue to write on my blog, I figured I should try to post again ;)

Well, I suppose there is no time like the present to say what I've been thinking about lately. It seems like this last year I have heard so many teenagers saying that they need to put the younger class-man in their place. In other words, they treat the kids that are just entering high school like garbage and say that they can get away with doing it because they are older. This has never once made sense to me being that I've always been taught to have respect for other people. Yes in my mind I do see those that are younger than me as immature, that's kind of a given, but I don't make myself so high and mighty because of it.

I got to thinking about this because I am now helping with 5th and 6th graders at my church. It's weird because they are not little kids that you can baby, nor are they teens/young adults (I personally think it's an awkward age). Anyways, I found how easy it was to see them as very much immature and constantly trying to get our attention by showing off and such. It would be simple enough to look down on them because of their behavior.

When you look at the big picture, the reality is that looking down on others doesn't just apply when your in high school, or taking care of kids, it apply s to a daily life as a adult.

The people that look down on lower class men, when they grow up to be a adult they don't just stop being mean - they just take it to the next level! Suddenly they look down on those that are a title below them at work, or those who aren't as skilled as them in something. It is really a major issue.

The answer though to this problem, regardless of whether you look down on others or is the one being looked down on, is this simple verse:

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.
~1 Timothy 4:12

It's important to, regardless of your situation, set an example for others constantly. If you feel like there are a bunch of immature pesky kids around you, rather than telling them they are less than worthy, show them how to act in a Godly way. Not to raise above them, but to shine Gods light. That in itself is going to bring others to you and you'll find that they will look up to you.

If your the one feeling like your not 'good enough' because you are younger, then don't react in a negative way to those putting you down, but rather pray for those people and act in a way that you know is pleasing to God.

Mastering these skills will only continue to help you as you get older and continue to find these situations in the work place and other environments.

I know it's something that I need to keep an eye on for myself that I don't begin to look down on others, as well as not getting mad when I feel like someone is saying that I am dumb in comparison.

I guess that is all for now
Have a blessed day,
Adriana
